Photo 1 TNO 882K is a genuine 1972 Mk1 Mexico owned by myself (Jon Ward) since February 2002. The car had been partly restored by the previous owner who had undertaken extensive repairs to the bodywork, including replacing all the panels from the windscreen forward. Since it's purchase the car has been bubble arched, turreted and has had a 5 speed gearbox fitted. The interior of the car has been fully re-trimmed and new wheels and tyres have also been added.




The basic technical details of the car is as follows :

Body work - Type 49 shell, steel bubble arched wings, rear turretts
Engine - Vulcan 1700 x/flow engine (approx 145 bhp), Piper 244 cam, Powergrip pulley, Electronic ignition
Carburation - Twin 40 Webers, twin cable linkage, K&N air filters
Exhaust - 2" Ashley system
Transmission - 5 speed type 9 gearbox, quick shift gear lever, Burton H/D single piece propshaft and standard Mexico rear axle
Front suspension and steering - Quaife H/D quick rack, roller bearing top mounts, Wedged Bilsteins adjustable platform 2 1/4” coil overs, World cup inserts , 190 lb springs, in situ adjustable TCAs, in situ adjustable front compression struts
Rear suspension - Turrett Bilsteins, panhard rod, H/D single leaf rear springs
Polyurethane bushes fitted all round.


Brakes - M16 front calipers complete with vented discs, AP remote servo
Interior - Springalex deep dish steering wheel, quick release RS Custom bucket front seats, OMP inertia reel 4pt harnesses, front roll cage
Security - It's there but I'm not telling !!
Wheels and tyres - 8J x 13" Superlites - 205/60/13 tyres.
